Tampa Bay’s other airport sees record June

The St. Petersburg-Clearwater International Airport recorded the busiest June in its history in 2014, serving 121,598 passengers.  That number is up nearly 64% from 2012, and is a 28% increase over 2013.  Through June, year-to-date traffic is up 23% at the airport.

The Florida airport sits just across Tampa Bay from the much larger Tampa International Airport, and has become a popular secondary airport for visitors to the Tampa Bay area.  Steady growth by leisure carrier Allegiant Air and a major renovation that saw the introduction of jet-bridges to the airport have fueled the significant growth in the last two years at the airport.
