Airbus to inspect 20 A380′s after cracks found inside wings

Oakland named Allegiant’s newest focus city

By Michael Garko, In Airline News Oakland International Airport will become Allegiant’s seventh focus city joining Fort Lauderdale, Las Vegas, Los Angeles, Orlando-Sanford, Phoenix-Mesa and St. Petersburg-Clearwater.  The leisure-focused airline will add seven new routes out of Oakland this spring.

Southwest’s post merger map takes shape

By Michael Garko, In Airline News Southwest Airlines, and its subsidiary AirTran Airways, has released its late-fall flight schedule for 2012.  Included in the release is the announcement that the carriers will end service to Allentown, Pa.; Lexington, Ky.; Harrisburg, Pa.; Huntsville, Ala.; Sarasota, Fla.; and White Plains, N.Y. beginning August 12, 2012.
