It may be three and a half years behind, but All Nippon Airways has taken contractual delivery of the first of its 55 Boeing 787 Dreamliners.
Both sides completed the historical transaction Sunday in Everett, Washington.
“Just about an hour ago we did sign the contract with ANA,” said Scott Fancher, Vice President and General Manager of the Boeing 787 program. “The title has been transferred of the first vehicle to ANA, so we’re real excited about that.”
The aircraft, which will be registered JA801A, will arrive in Japan on September 28th at 9:00AM Tokyo time. The first flight will be a charter flight from Tokyo-Narita to Hong Kong before entering scheduled revenue service on November 1st.
