Spirit is at it again with another provocative ad, as they have launched a new sale poking fun of the Anthony Weiner picture scandal.

Many people are complimenting Spirit’s creativity for their new sale, while others call it “disgusting” and “distasteful”.  Spirit sent an email to announce the start of its”Weiner Sale” with “Fares Too HARD to Resist!”  In the email, Spirit stated:

Check out our BIG Weiner Sale boasting fares just too hard to resist! This scandalous sale is no secret so get socially connected with fares from just $9* each way, based on roundtrip purchase! Hurry to book now before this sale gets hacked!

The Miami Herald stated that it asked the carrier in an e-mail why it decided to enter the Weiner controversy.

The Herald writes Spirit spokeswoman Misty Pinson responded with: “We can confirm with certitude that the photo is in fact our weiner. The ad is ours, and we sent it.”

The “Weiner Sale” is just the most recent in a series of controversial, provocative advertisements.  Previous sales include: “MILF (Many Islands Low Fares) Sale”, “We’re no Virgin! We’ve been cheap and easy for years Sale”, and a sale poking fun at Tiger Woods and his scandal.
